Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Sino Recipes (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice.

Sino Recipes is a recipe discovery and meal-planning application that provides users with:

• Access to a curated recipe database
• AI-powered cooking assistant (Sino AI) for personalised recipe and meal planning advice
• Weekly meal planning tools
• Shopping list generation
• Recipe saving and collection management

Some features are restricted to paid subscription plans ("Pro"). The availability of specific features may change over time.

To use the Service you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction)
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly notify us at support@sino.app of any unauthorised use of your account

One person may not maintain more than one free account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Free Plan: Basic access to the Service at no charge, subject to usage limits described in the app.

Pro Plan: A paid subscription that unlocks unlimited AI messages, the full meal planner, and other premium features. Pricing is displayed at checkout and may vary by region.

Billing: Payments are processed by PayPal. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method for the applicable subscription fee. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your Profile. Upon cancellation, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. We do not issue partial refunds for unused time.

Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' prior notice. Continued use after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

Sino AI is an AI-powered cooking assistant. By using Sino AI, you acknowledge that:

• AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your dietary or health needs
• You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for medical, nutritional, or allergy-related decisions
• Your conversation messages are processed by third-party AI providers (OpenRouter) to generate responses. We do not store your messages for AI training purposes
• We may impose usage limits on AI features based on your subscription plan

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for dietary or medical advice.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to extract data from the Service
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Transmit any harmful, offensive, or illegal content through the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

All content on the Service — including but not limited to recipes, images, text, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by Sino Recipes or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any content without our written permission.

If you submit any content to the Service (such as recipe ideas or feedback), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with the Service.

The Service integrates with third-party providers including PayPal (payments), Supabase (data storage), and OpenRouter (AI). These providers have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any third-party content.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content provided through the Service, including AI-generated content.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SINO RECIPES AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your Profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.

On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
